Winter maintenance should focus on gentle cleaning rather than chemical treatment.

Most tile issues arise from:

A tile batch (also known as a shade or production run) refers to tiles produced:

• at the same time

• using the same raw materials

• under the same kiln conditions

Even small changes in production can result in subtle differences in colour, tone or surface texture.

This is a normal characteristic of ceramic and porcelain tile manufacturing.

Batch variation can occur due to:

• raw material sourcing

• kiln temperature and firing cycles

• glaze application

• production scheduling

As a result, tiles from different batches — even of the same product — may not be an exact visual match.

Where possible, MegaTiles aims to supply:

• a single batch per order

• tiles from the same production run

However, this cannot always be guaranteed due to:

• manufacturer availability

• stock constraints

• order size

• timing between orders

Batch numbers are allocated at the time of dispatch, not at quotation.

We recommend ordering 10–15% extra tiles above measured area to allow for:

• cutting

• wastage

• breakages

• future repairs

Re-ordering later may result in a different batch or shade, even for the same product.

This recommendation protects your project — not our margins.

Samples are intended to demonstrate:

• material quality

• surface finish

• general colour direction

Samples may not represent the exact batch supplied in a full order.

Minor shade variation between sample and delivered tiles is normal and acceptable within industry standards.

It is the responsibility of the buyer (or installer) to:

• check batch numbers on boxes

• inspect tiles before installation

• confirm suitability prior to fixing

If batch variation or visual concerns are identified, installation must not proceed.

Once tiles are installed, they are considered accepted.

Many retailers avoid discussing batching altogether.

Batch control is not about perfection, it is about informed decision-making.

All tiles supplied by MegaTiles are sourced from established manufacturers and produced to recognised industry standards. Where applicable, product data includes:

• Water absorption rates
  (Porcelain tiles typically ≤0.5%, suitable for internal and external use)

• Slip resistance ratings
  (R9–R13 depending on finish and intended application)

• Wear resistance (PEI ratings)
  Relevant for floor applications and traffic levels

• Frost resistance
  Essential for outdoor paving and external installations

• Thickness and rectification tolerances
  Affecting layout precision and installation method

We provide this information to assist with correct specification.
Final responsibility for suitability remains with the installer and project designer.

Many porcelain tiles supplied by MegaTiles are suitable for use with underfloor heating systems, subject to:

• correct adhesive selection

• correct substrate preparation

• gradual commissioning of heating systems

• compliance with manufacturer installation guidelines

We strongly recommend professional installation and consultation with heating system providers prior to installation.

Tiles are manufactured for specific environments.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing:

• wall tiles may not be suitable for floors

• internal tiles may not be suitable for external use

• decorative mosaics may not be suitable for high-traffic areas

If a product is intended for non-standard or specialist applications, this must be disclosed at the point of selection so suitability can be assessed.

Tiles are kiln-fired products. Natural variation in:

• shade

• texture

• pattern

• surface movement

is inherent and expected.

These variations do not constitute defects.

We recommend blending tiles from multiple boxes during installation to achieve the most balanced visual result.

All tiles must be inspected before fixing.

Once tiles are:

• installed

• cut

• laid

• sealed

they are deemed accepted.

No claims relating to:

• shading

• size tolerance

• surface appearance

• suitability

can be accepted after installation.

Where applicable, tiles are supplied with the manufacturer’s warranty.
MegaTiles’ liability is limited to the replacement or refund of defective tiles as determined by the manufacturer.
